FINANCE

Finance is a central component of business organisation and management and focuses on why firms make investment decisions and how they raise capital to fund these investments.  Understanding the organisation of business is established in first year with accountancy, economics and management studies.  These are built upon in second year with the following core subjects:
·        Business Finance – how firms appraise investment projects and make sound decisions.
·        Personal Finance and Investment – personal financial decision making from financing car purchase to investing in shares and bonds.
These courses provide the core theoretical skills, which are built upon throughout the degree course.

 STUDYING FINANCE
All courses are modularised and carry a number of credits.  Credits are gained through a weighted combination of course work and examinations.  The following degree programmes can be taken:
·        4 year Honours Degree in Finance, MA (Hons) Finance
·        4 year Joint Honours Degree in Accountancy and Finance
·        4 year Joint Honours Degree in Finance and another subject such as Economics, Management Studies, Legal Studies, Property or Languages.
